The hillside trip

There are no beginnings
and there are no ends,
there are only men and their deeds,
which sow the seeds,
from which memories grow,
and make a jungle,
with beasts and beauties that mingle,
dreams and nightmares,
both together,
as if woven in a sweater,
prim and proper,
like milk and water,
there to stay,
there to last,
and telling a story of the past

I will talk about one such seed,
which started a jungle so dense,
and so immense,
so breathtakingly beautiful,
as if divine,
and so pristine,
that i am as much a part of it,
as it is a part of me,
it all began on that fateful day,
when i said i would meet her and slept away,
she was furious at being stood up,
so i met her to make it up,
and we felt a spark,
a strange connection,
taking me in her direction,

Resist I did but all in vain,
because it is the heart that rules over brain,
i said i would see her soon,
and met her the very next noon,
and we went to that river bank,
where the sun in front of our eyes sank,
in the river with that bridge,
with boats and swans,
that swayed as they swam,
i felt i was one with the people on them,
those fishermen casting their net,
trying to catch life as they went,
i hoped the sun would never set,
but that was not a safe bet,
Throwing rays of twilight,
on two people and making their world bright,
it started sinking,
i didn't know what was happening?
was it her beauty?
or was it the ambience?
May be a subtle mix of both,
And i lost my heart to her,
and made promises of future,
of love and life,
to be together in joy and strife,
but she was cautious,
and unusually quiet,
she smiled in a way that was right,
and so the seeds were sown,
of a never ending saga,
that actually had no beginning and has no end,

that night i asked her,
if she would rather,
come far away from this city,
to the hillside so pretty,
she said nothing and put it off,
but a week later we took off,
when she took the offer,
and off we went together,
in a rickety ride,
sleeping with eyes open wide,
and on the way I had,
the first kiss of my life ,
her inexperience showed,
and so did mine,
but that didn’t matter,
it all seemed right,
we sat together,
and I hugged her tight,
she didn’t oppose,
and I felt right,
the beauty of the hills we took in,
sitting quiet but shouting within,
and the flora was in full bloom as we came in,
our hearts were beating together,
and the same things started looking better,
connected by some unexplained bond,
I listened to that strange song,
Of the clock tower and it gong,
And we alighted,
On the hillside,

It was amazing,
Purely breathtaking,
The lake and the mountains,
The museum and the tiny school,
It seemed so blissful,
That I wished I would never have to leave,
The horses and the lambs were so furry,
The people on the hills Seemed in no hurry,
And all of a sudden without warning,
It started raining,
We were drenched in emotions and started running,
Feeling sensations that,
We had felt never before,
And went in the museum through the huge door,
And drank the local folklore,
And there was this secluded corner,
Where I took her in my arms and kissed her,
She resisted at first,
But then gave in,
And we were entangled in our passions,
The rain had stopped,
But we went on,
Kissing each other ,
With no care for others,
Oh! I get nostalgic thinking about it,
That good old hillside trip,
The place where I met my destiny
And found my soul mate!!!!

Dead night

Nobody awake, such peace and quiet,
nothing moves , not even slight,
the world is sleeping,
its all right,
its after all for me,
a dead night.

Memories of past,
so vivid and bright,
the moments of passion,
and days of slight,
the fights started at trifling pretense,
in hindsight they don't make any sense,
the world is sleeping,
its all right,
its after all for me,
a dead night,

Is there no hope?
not even slight?
can anyone understand,
my miserable plight?
and light a candle,
for me at night,
am not a believer,
but i believe in justice,
a mirage that lives,
out of my sight,
oh! the pain i have caused,
tortures me day and night,
the world is sleeping,
its all right,
its after all for me,
a dead night,

the promises i made,
matter no longer,
my words seem hollow,
i seethe with anger,
no esteem,
no love,
no passion no pride,
i pass my days sleeping,
eyes open wide,
trying to dream,
trying to scream,
the world is sleeping,
its all right,
its after all for me,
a dead night,

someone once said,
there are no free lunches,
i found that out the hard way,
and all i do since then,
is that i pray,
life seems like the games they play,
except there is no restart,
and when you are hurt,
that's how you stay,
am not a believer,
i just sway,
from one hope to another,
last month was a dagger,
it killed my heart,
and left me alive,
cold, and bloody,
a corpse , a john-doe,
the world is sleeping,
its all right,
its after all for me,
a dead night.
